A Soft Place to Land: A Novel by Susan Rebecca White

Boring, Slow, Unconvincing
A Soft Place to Land

The synopsis was misleading, the main characters were annoying, the ending was too abrupt, and there was very little to support the idea that they were ever great sisters.

Yes, conflict is important in drama, but I want to like at least a little the people I'm reading about, and neither of the sisters (and certainly not the boyfriend) were likeable or sympathetic. It felt like the author was so in love with her characters that she forgot to show the reader why they should love them as well.

I did like some of the supporting characters (Mimi, Robert, and Dara), and her location descriptions were very good, so I will look at some of the author's other work, but I don't recommend this one.
