This book was found to be very dramatic and very informative. It was great ride into the fantasic world of old Chicago's beauty and darkness both. It would be a great read for anyone!

This book is worth reading to book clubs all over the world, or even if you're not involved in a book club. There are several members in our club, of all sorts and varieties and they all loved it with equal appreciation.

This was such a fun book even with its racial undertones. Being a young woman from the south, the things that happened within the story touch close to home even today. It is a book of strength, friendship and unbelievable faith in the human spirit to do the right thing. I would recommend this to anyone that just enjoys reading.
