An excellent historical story.

This book was fantastic. It is the real, word for word, journal of a white bride sent to marry a Native American man as a part of a government program in the late 1800s. Although anyone of a basic knowledge of early US-Native American relations can guess what will likely happen, the book is a page turner.

I liked it until the last 10 pages

I really liked this book- until the end. I won't say why I didn't like it, because I don't want to give anything away. With that said, my book club read it and everyone seemed to like the book and think it was a good choice. If you are currently caring for someone with Alzheimer's, I would not recommend reading the book- it hits VERY close to home with an accurate description of what it is like to have a family member suffer from this terrible disease.

eh

I didn't love this book. I got it on CD for a long car trip (it was on clearance at Borders). It was a good enough "fluff" novel, but nothing I would recommend to someone else.

If you didn't read it in high school, it's worth it now.

I have loved this book ever since I read it as a freshman, and it continues to be my favorite book. It has everything- mystery, humor, excellent writing. If you haven't read it yet, it's time!

Just read it!

If you are a Harry Potter hold out, just read the books! They are fantastically well written, and very addicting. I read the first four books in a week (back when there were only 4) and couldn't wait for more. I would recommend reading the books in order, so you know what's going on.

a good read

I had this as a text book for a class I took a number of years ago on the Vietnam War. I have to say that I genuinely enjoyed this book. It talks about the things soldiers carry to war with them, both tangible, and intangible.

I read this book as a high school junior and have picked it up several times since. It is a well written book which, although dated, has stood the test of time, presenting situations which many people face today.

This book is amazing.

I dearly love this book. I first read it in college, and have read it many times since with high school junior English classes. This book is Arthur Miller's commentary on the red scare, comparing the way people were called communists at to the way witches were hunted down in puritan society.

A good read

I really liked this book. It's a mystery. Some parts were easy to figure out, but others were a complete surprise.

A good read

This book was unexpectedly dark. It showed just how ugly humans can be to one another. I would read it again in a few years.

Amazing

I have loved this book ever since I read it in high school. It is both a commentary on childhood as well as the time and place in which it takes place.
