Could not put it down initially, but the last half was so bad. In our discussion, I also realized that the beginning wasn't even as good as I thought. The characters are totally one-dimentional - especially the villian. In hindsight, I'd say learning about that time period as the only things about the book. I can't even give it more than 1 star because it was completely disappointing by the end and I felt I'd wasted a lot of time reading it.

We have one of our best discussions ever. We're all from different places and walks of life, and it was very interesting to see the reactions. But we all did love this read. I personally could not put it down.

I wish I could give this more stars, but the writing ruined it for me.

Sometimes, the plot got a little contrived, but the characters are so original, it kept us all reading. We plan to read the next 2, as well.

A few of us liked the book, the rest thought it had no purpose/point. It didn't seem to spark much of a discussion.
