My Reviews
I just loved this book . My only problem was because I had a deadline to get it read by, I know I missed lots of details, so I plan to go back and revisit it at a later date.
This was our little bookclubs first meeting and it was lovely to hit upon a book that everybody just loved
Greg Mortenson deserves more than " Kudos " for his effort and work. The world needs more people like this man.
I think the book was a little drawn out at the end .
I also loved this book because I lived in the Middle East for 10 years and I felt a connection to some os the things he experienced
I just loved this book, all dog owners should read it it..
Enzo is an inspiring creature
I thought the book was well written, in so far as the author has lots of tense twists in her story .
I would not however describe this book as romantic as many of the reviews I have read seem to.
The charactors all seemed sad/pathetic human beings to me espcially the younger sister .
Sorry, our entire club thought this was the worst book they ever read.
PS: We all read it cover to cover
I found it depressing...I know the author wrote the book but the charactors made poor choices that none of us could relate to.
Our previous book choice was also a little heavy & so We needed something we could relate to and this was not it...But I finished it, many did not.
If you love to cook/bake and enjoy food blogs then this is the book for you.
I had a fun time reading it and an even better time with the recipes...which we used for your bookclub meeting last night
Although I would never have normally chose to read a book like this, I loved it.As did the group. It was amazing to me what the human spirit can endure .
What amazed me most was how after going to hell and back this amazing human being found it within his heart to forgive his captors.
The horror of it all, is that man is capable of such heinousness.
I really liked it but did not love it, its a great choice for Hawaii\
I loved how the writer did not spend time laying blame for his situation but told his story ,which is a story that is sadly all too common these days .
It the book helped me realize that all the homeless are not substance abusers .
