Excellent - one of my favorites!

Pull out your thinking cap

I did not like this book as well as Life of Pi, but I thought it was good. Full of symbolism and with a shocking end. It definitely left me wanting to discuss it with others. I could see it being a good book club choice for that reason.

It's ok

While I enjoyed the book, it is not amazing. The prose was beautifully written but I had a hard time with the dialogue; it seemed anachronistic at some times and just unrealistic at others. There are too many story lines that are underdeveloped, in my opinion.
