My Reviews
The characters did not make you care about them. The concept was interesting and made for a very lively discussion.
The book was difficult at first to keep track of all the characters and their spouses and children. Stick with it it gets better.
This book starts out hard to read but stick with it the characters draw you in, as well as the subject matter, The discussion was very lively.
Some members thought they would not like this book but all of us ended up loving it. The characters are people you care about. The discussion was lively everyone weighed in with varying opinions. We learned about another culture which is always a treat.
The characters were very compelling. Learning about the Amish culture was very interesting. It showed the difference and similarties between the two worlds. The discussion was very lively with everyone joining. We were all in agreement Great Book.
The book really kept me reading long past the time to put it down for other things. The characters made you care about them. Living in the hearts and minds of other cultures was a mind opening experience, this made us all feel thankful of our own lives. The discussion was lively with everyone in agreement that it was one of the best books we've read.
Alot of characters, maybe too many. The book could have been done shorter, too many different story lines.Having said that I enjoyed reading this book didn't love it.
