My Reviews
When most women hit a bump in their road they put on their big girl panties and deal. Elizabeth put on her wings and flew away. I actually had no patience for her choices and think a journey where a woman who has to find herself does it in reality would be a better handbook for enlightenment.
This brillant novel with its five year old narrator will capture your heart. The language, precise detail and terrifyingly real story will at times astound and at others chill you to the core.
I really wanted to like this book but it was painful. The characters are not likeable or interesting. I found the entire book pointless, it did not touch my soul nor did it ignite fury or feeling.
Since this book has so many controversial topics woven into the plot there will be many talking points for discussion. The story moved along but still kept to the formula Picoult has been sticking to for her last several books which I find disappointing for this gifted writer; a poor soul (unborn this time), a trial, and a contrived ending. I did like the book and it held my attention. I am glad I read it.
