Insightful, Inspiring, Interesting

An amusing yet touching slice of life in the southern 60's

This book is an easy, enjoyable read featuring well-developed characters and a perfectly true-to-life story line. The author does a splendid job of blending a sad morality tale into the amusing first person narratives. She catches the attitudes and thought processes of her characters wonderfully.

Dramatic, Insightful, Interesting

An eye opener

This book is quite thought provoking, makes us consider how deep are the reasons some people seek shelter in other countries and how politics and big business might squash the little folks who have no voice. The book is so well written, the characters are understandable and compelling.
