My Reviews
Every book club should read this book!
Great idea for a book although I felt the characters could have been developed a little more.
Another fantastic book from Jeanette Walls. Her grandmother's life is fascinating.
Characters definately need developed more thoroughly. The main character seems to be very wishy washy and as soon as I think I understand her she turns into something else. A bit of a disappointment after the first book.
Very disappointing. I closed the book thinking "what was the point to all of that?". Very poorly written. As this is a young adult book it saddens me to see there is no real moral lesson learned. The series had real potential after the first book. So much could have been done with it. Scenes in this last book felt hastily thrown together with no real cohesion.
I really could not put this book down once I started it. Needless to say I am anticipating the sequal!
The book held my attention although I found myself irritated with the heroine. It may have been because of the period it was written in but she seemed strong one moment and weak the next. The story seemed somewhat predictable with the damsel in distress theme. If you like period romances you will probably like this book.
