My Reviews
Having picked up this book while traveling in India, I found her comments accurate, although at times a bit harsh. There are many things in India that could considered sad or ugly by some, but the people, the culture and history of the country are beautiful and amazing.
I did love her interest in all the reglions that come with India. Many people mistake India as being purely Hindu, not realizing how many other religions are there (even one of the Christian apostles is buried there.)
I enjoyed her adventures and I love how I relived my advertures as I read.
I suggest you watch the movie AFTER reading the book. The book will add a lightness to a very heavy story. We forget we see ourselves differently than others see us, his story reminds me of that. Where are mind takes us is more about who we are than anything we wear, say or do.
This book inspiried a great discussion about morality, beliefs and serving others.
This is a beautifully written book that had me laughing out loud on many occasions. I've encouraged my husband, who is a huge NASCAR fan, to read the book as well. In a single word, CHARMING.
It prompted some great discussion.
Just loved this book. Created Great conversation with the book club comparing life then to now and discussing who was innocent (a mockingbird) and who wasn't.
