My Reviews
I love books that have a twist that I didn't even see coming. This book rides the fine line of supernatural and classic. Our discussion went on and one with this one!
I read this book for the second time after 10 years and loved it even more. The World According to Garp is so good that you really start to believe that T.S. Garp is real.
This book takes every woman's nightmare of being kidnapped and turns it into a believable and haunting story.
This book inspired one of our longest book discussions to date.
I loved this book. Some in our book club found it cheesy but I thought it was a beautiful love story with an interesting twist on the classic tale. It really makes you want to visit Siena immediately!
I had high hopes for this book as I love historical fiction and "What If?" type of plots. It was terrible. May Dodd is not at all likeable and I hate what a hero the book makes her out to be. Each character is a sterotype and completely fake. Don't read this book.
Ernest Hemingway does a great job at capturing European life. Love.
I liked the Last Lecture and about half of Randy's lessons but did find some of the book to be preachy. I think it would bring about a lot of discussion in a book club though.
While I HATED Jude in this book, I loved the rest of the characters and found the book extremely moving. Great book club choice!
