My Reviews
This book was interesting to me only from a historical background of what it might be for the "negros" (to use the author's words) in our area in the 1930's. I learned what it might have been like in that neighborhood which reminded me of LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRE.
Although the book was tedious in some parts, the subject matter is extremely thought provoking and therefore we had good conversation about the book and the meaning of different parts of the book. We had people that loved it and didn't love it in our group. The writer added details that weren't relevant to the story and/or weren't answered. So in summary, interesting for a bookclub.
