light and easy read; funny at times but obnoxious at other times; those easily offended should not read this book
Great mystery! The book was a quick read, keeps you guessing until the end, and leaves you wanting to see what happens next in the series. The book is for a young adult audience, but readers of all ages will enjoy this mystery.
This book was incredibly interesting, given the impact of the HeLa cells on today's world. This book wove science into a personal story, and also provided a great context by describing events happening during that time. I think this is a great read - technical enough to provide context but not too technical as to lose the reader. I would highly recommend this book.
Well written book about a unique aspect of slavery. The book was a quick read and I was anxious to see what would happen next. There were many twists and turns that add depth to the story.
John Green captured the adolescent voice perfectly. It was refreshing to read about normal people coping with not-so-normal issues. I found myself at times laughing, crying, and wondering what would happen next - such a thought-provoking book. I would recommend it highly,
We read this for our October book club, and it was a perfect choice for the season. Its a quick read, with lots of suspense and intrigue.
This author has a knack for making it easy for the reader to view the world from the eyes of her characters. As a result, this book is eye-opening, offering different perspectives and allowing the reader to see varying situations through multiple views. Not only is this a good book for adults, but it would be eye opening for young adults and tweens as well.
This is a lighthearted read that really inspires thought on how relationships form and grow, and how stepping out of your typical routine can be positive and extremely rewarding.
