My Reviews
This book dealt with alot of serious issues in women's lives, but it added a bit of the bizarre to off-set them. I really enjoyed it and would love to have friends like the women in the story.
I could not recommend this for anyone. I had a hard time getting even half way through it.
I didn't like the book at the beginning, it had a good story to start and then focused on other topics than I thought it would. I didn't really like some of the characters, but then realized why she was telling a story within the story to kind of make you see the main story differently. It also made some of the main characters who didn't resemble each other at all in the beginning to have alot in common in the end.
I really enjoyed this book. There was atleast one character that everyone can identify with. And it was fun to see how the men tried to outsmart the women.
I've read all the Sookie Stackhouse novels up to this one. I really enjoy them but I don't know if a book club would. The whole club would have to like science fiction to enjoy these stories. They are best read in order.
I am not usually a fan of short stories, but this offers some background to the Sookie Stackhouse novels that you didn't get from the novels. It was fun book and a quick read.
I really enjoyed this book. It had a good mystery and an unexpected twist. (Although, I did figure it out before it was all done.)
This was a very good read. It kept my interest and I was almost sad when it ended. It was very inspiring and makes you look at your own life and blessings (even if you didn't think they were blessings when you first picked up the book.
I really enjoyed this book. It reminds us that it wasn't all that long ago that our country was struggling with prejudice and segregation. It keeps you reading.
I really enjoyed this book, it had a good story and a few unexpected twists. It generated good discussion at our meeting.
At first I was afraid this was going to be a boring book. But it evolved into a beautiful story! I loved how the characters changed and broke out of their comfort zones.
This book was very interesting. Let you have a peek into the mind of an autistic child. Amazing as to how they think and the reasons they react the way they do.
I enjoyed the read. It got a little bit repetative but did spark some good discussion.
I enjoyed this book. At times it seemed confusing but the mystery was a good one and I look forward to reading more by Diane. I'm planning on making one of the recipes from the book to bring to our meeting!
I really enjoyed this book. It was entertaining as well as sending a good message.
I really enjoyed Sweetness. Flavia was a fun character, very smart for an 11-year old. I loved how the book started, it made me think it was going to be a totally different sort of story.
I really enjoyed this book. It was very touching and inspiring that Lexi was so upbeat after the life she lived. Keep a box of kleenix handy while you are reading.
I really enjoyed this book. It gave me a view of a part of the world and people that I had a biased ideas about because of recent history. It had a great story even though it was a sad story.
I really enjoyed Hot Flash Holidays. It had some good storylines that a woman of a certain age could relate too. I could see me and my friends doing some of the things these girls did!
I really enjoyed this book.
When I first started this book, I was afraid it was going to be too sci-fi for me, but was surprised with the story. I did enjoy the story even tho some of the computer science was above me. I joined a book club to read different genres than I would choose for myself and this book was an enjoyable read.
