My Reviews
At first it is tough to follow and it is a difficult topic; however if you stick with it, it is a wonderful dramatic story that is happening right now in our own time. Read the back of the book for the author's interview to learn more about his research, absolutely amazing.
It is a true and transforming story. Every woman should read this book. It is right up there with books like The Lemon Tree by Sandy Tolan.
Everyone of our members thoroughly enjoyed this book. We had a long discussion, over three hours and all were enthusiastic about the information learned. Michael Pollan writes in a funny way and the information is presented in a non-threatening manner, or in a non-preachy way. Fascinating how the word "what's for dinner" can imply so much.
As with Infidel, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, writes from the heart and with incredible insight. With Nomad, her suggestions and commentary on how and why we need to face some of the issues surrounding Islam are life changing.
All nine of our members enjoyed this book. Charlott had an amazing life story which enabled us to have a good hour long discussion about strengths, forgiveness and the times in which she lived.
Much more indepth than what we learned in history class. We learned so much more about Ann and their relationship.
Very good.
