My Reviews
I enjoyed this easy read. It was informative on the subject matter of dementia. My family is beginning to see the onset of this disease on my Grandmother is provided insight into the emotions surrounding caring for a loved one and provided some insightful knowledge.
Loved this book. It was a great read. I was sorry to see it end. I fell in love with the characters.
I read this book with great anticipation given all the hype I have heard about it. I did like the book however the first 2/3rds of the book I found a bit slow and it dragged. The payoff however was in the last 1/3 or the book that made my investment of time worth it.
Loved the book. The characters were well developed and the look into the circus life was fun and insightful.
I really enjoyed the book up until the ending. I did not care for the ending. It was so flat compared to the build up. Otherwise a beautiful and tender book about the bonds of family.
I liked the authors ability to convey what I think many of us women feel regarding relationships. Funny and insightful.
One of the best books I ever read
An inspiring book about the human spirit and the ability to triumph against all odds.
The author does a great job of making the characters come to life with their dialogue. Her use of words place you at the scene in Edgecombe, England and make you feel as if you are a party to the conversations taking place. I loved Major Pettigrew's personality. He made me chuckle plenty of times. It is a sweet book about friendship, life and love.
This is a sweet book. A great summer read. Very light and refreshing. Curl up on your porch swing with a tall glass of iced tea and enjoy a book full of warmth, love and charming women of the south.
This is a quick read. The characters are interesting and likable. The issues at hand are difficult and thought provoking but the book remains light and not depressing
This was a thought provoking book. A good book club discussion book as you will have strong opinions about the characters. Beautifully written. This one stays with you long after you have finished it.
A sweet book that will make you cry tears of sadness and tears of joy. A sweet misunderstood man and a sweet, wonderful neighbor. A book about kind hearted, genuine, caring people.
A beautiful, dramatic, romantic epic of a novel. A cant put down book.
A good book for book lovers and those who love to frequent quaint bookshops
I enjoyed this book. It moved at a fast pace with lots of twists and turns. I loved the way the author wrote. She kept the dialogue moving at a fast pace.
I listened to this as an audiobook. It is narrated by Tom Hanks. I enjoyed listening to his voice as he read this family drama.
A beautiful story of resilience and friendship. A reminder that not all of us live charmed lives. A beautiful book about the nature that surrounds us. A reminder to slow down and see it and appreciate it.
