My Reviews
I was brought back to realization that it was not very long ago that our great country was not so open minded and accepting as we are today. It pains me to think that one could treat another with so little regard to them as people versus inferior beings. I hope this book helps other see that we need to be understanding of differences in others.
These books were addicting! I read all three in a week and was wanting more when I finished!
This book was highly recommended to me. It took all I could do to finish it. I thought it was slow and boring. The story really seemed to need a kick start until the end of it.
I finished the book in a day. I found it to be so engrossing with the powerful family dimensions. It's amazing how one person deals with things so differently than the next. Perhaps Alice did things that I wouldn't do, but it was her decision to make while she was able to do so. I feel as if I have a better understanding of this disease after reading the book. Great Job on the first novel Lisa! A couple of my friends took very different things from the book. One of them completely despised the husband. I felt he coped as best he could. The daughters handled the situation in their own unique ways too.
It was all I could do to finish this book. I did not like her style of writing. The last 25% was better reading, but I would not have finished it if I didn't have book club to attend.
I truly enjoyed this book. There were many twists and turns throughout the journey for the main character. Also very insightful in the early years of the traveling circus circuit.
