Book Club Recommended
Romantic, Informative, Beautiful
Beautifully written historical fiction

Jamie Ford does an excellent job of describing cultural attitudes and how backgrounds come together in the city of Seattle in the 1940s and 1980s. Wonderfully written--a must read!

 
Adventurous, Dramatic, Interesting
I didn't care for this book, but some in my group liked it

It was a tale about circus life. Circus life is difficult and built on illusion. Bad things happen. Good things happen. Personally, this book really didn't grab my attention. The elephant's intellect and personification was really the only interesting element.

 
Unconvincing, Poorly Written
Not so good

We ended up not even meeting for this one. Bot Muslims and non-Muslims did not find this book that worthwhile. We were sorry we picked it.
