My Reviews
I read this a long time ago, but it is one of the best books I ever read. If you enjoy historical fiction you will like this!
Something we never really think about and the rejection they encounter and the relationships the lepers form due to their illness. There was a true sadness that this kind of thing actually happens!
Little Bee held your interest although it was a bit far fetched. The characters were all a little depressing.
You got to see the strengths and weaknesses of each of the women in the book.
This book was hard to get in to. It is very slow moving! I did not find the sexual content of the book offensive but I found it hard to find the relevance in the beginning of the book.
This book was so well written. It was told from the point of view of children and the author portrays that through her writing style and as the children grow up so does the writing. Lavinia although introverted is such a strong character.
All that happens in the book is believable and because of that heart wrenching.
The book goes back and forth from past to present. The characters are vibrant. Juliet goes to Italy after her grandmother dies and the truth unfolds as to what had really happened to her family.
You root for her all the way!
The characters are beautiful. The read was easy and the history was informative!
The book was so slow. After 200 pages I couldn't finish. I kept waiting for something drastic to happen and I am sure it did, but I did not have the patience to wait it out! Some horrific details of the Hitler regime, but other then that I had no ties or connection with the characters.
I did not know what to expect from the book at first. It was so well written and you really became to either hate or love the characters. In many of the descriptions of the Hemingways' travels you could actually picture the scenery.
A pleasant surprise.
This trilogy is truly different than anything I have ever read. Our entire book club couldn't put it down.
I really enjoyed this book and all of the twists and turns it took. Throughout you wonder who to trust.
This book was so descriptive And made me really think about the continual tragedies of any war and the strength needed to survive.
