I loved this book - it was sad, it was funny, it was heartwarming and it gave the reader something to think about long after you finished the book. I want to read more of this author's work.
Tale of three very different characters brought together to one place, all with different backgrounds and life problems they are trying to resolve. Insight to some people\\\'s struggles with trying to survive in a very judgmental society.
I felt the story was about a man who was trying to do the right things in his life regarding family, working, helping others, etc. but he had serious failures in some of the decisions he made in regard to the above. Phillip Roth always encourages your though process.
I loved this book and was spellbound from the very first. It is the type of book that makes you think, what would I do if I was put in the position of either of the two main characters. I was in tears by the end of the book, and I did not want it to end. Great story teller!
Since I had no idea what the book was about, I was pleasantly surprised about the expression of feelings of an elderly man really caring for another human being from his long ago past..His effort and determination to make a connection again will touch your heart and make you wish there were more people in the world like him. Great Story!
