My Reviews
I loved this novel, as did the other members of my book club. It's set in seven or eight countries and tells the story of a father and daughter's journey. It's beautifully written and is quite moving.
This novel brings the Vietnam War to vivid life. Unfortunately, I didn't find the author to be a good writer, nor his characters to be memorable. I've forgotten them already.
This is an amazing story of a young girl's efforts to survive the Khmer Rouge. Tough, but wonderful.
I love this book. I just love it. It's the story of the Taj Mahal, and it's so well done. This novel has inspired me to travel to India. Beautiful and poignant.
I really enjoyed this book. I think Amy Tan writes about mother/daughter relationships so well. I loved the characters in this novel.
This novel is about two Americans who travel to modern-day Vietnam to start an orphange for homeless children. This novel made me laugh and cry and smile. I won't forget it.
I enjoyed this take on Rome. The story was excellent. The characters were good. My only complaint is that it was somewhat unbelievable. No one can get as beatup as the hero does and continue to function. Impossible.
I know this book isn't for everyone, but I really enjoyed how it brought up aging, and made me think about my own life, mortality, etc. I think the book is quite brilliant that way.
