My Reviews
This is a story about a young woman who does all the wrong things, yet we keep rooting for her. Bad Marie is written very well, keeping the reader's attention. The story is a very unique one.
The author names so many different people in her life that it became difficult to keep track of them. The everyday aspects of her like did not hold our attention. Our group was very disappointed in this book.
This well written book was not only interesting, but very informative as well. I had never heard of the Haredi sect of Judaism, and now have a good grasp of their ideas. Our group especially liked the ending of this story of a young girl and her conflicts regarding her religion and artistic desires.
Our club loved this book. We enjoyed the easily read life and experiences of Ernest Hemingway and his first wife during the early 1920s. It is an interesting and quick read.
