I was drawn in immediately..and could not put this book down. It was sad and inspiring, fascinating and unpredictable. Just picked it for our book club because it has so many thought-provoking and sometimes controversial topics. I highly recommend it!

The Snow Angel

This was a very good book. I personally like Glenn Beck, but when it comes to this book it does not matter if you like him or not. It is not political or "religious" Does touch on topics such as alcoholism, child abuse and domestic violence. This would be good for book club disussions although I read it on my own.

The Language of Flowers

I loved this book! Victoria's life story really touched my heart. The book had 2 stories going on, past and present, but it did not get confusing. I will never look at a flower again without wondering what the "meaning" is. A beautiful, touching and "different" story. I would highly recommend and I know there will be much to discuss in our upcoming book club.

Unbroken

This book was way, way WAY too long. The true "story" is amazing, but the writer got so bogged down in details. It is not hard to understand how horrible the circumstances were of WWII, but the story was lost in the way too many details. I never did finish it, which is a shame, but I just couldn't commit the time needed and I just got tired and frustrated as a read. I heard Louie Z wrote his own book..I am going to look for that one!

This was a fantastic book! It was written very well, and I loved the characters. Both stories were intriguing, and I loved the way she wove them together as the book went along. I think this book will make for great discussion at our book club, and I highly recommend it.

Wow, what a fantastic story!

The main character is Pat, and I already miss him, since I finished the book a couple of hours ago. THAT is the sign of a believable, powerful, tragic, yet inspiring life story. We are starting a new book club, and this is our first book, and I am SO glad it is, because if this doesn\\\\\\\'t hook people into wanting to read more, I don\\\\\\\'t know what will. It\\\\\\\'s a quick read (short and hard to put down), and yet it is about heavy and difficult issues, it was written in a way that brings some giggles, some \\\\\\\"LOLs\\\\\\\" and some tears as well. My heart was satisfied at the end of the story, and this is one I will never forget.

5 stars until the end :(

This book was likely to make it into my top 3 books of all time..until the end. The characters were easy to love and the story felt so real. But by the end, it plummeted into a dark place and never recovered. Why the author went from a challenging topic but a story full of hope, to an ending that basically says \\\\\\\"love and family is not enough to make life worth living\\\\\\\" is just nto worth the read. Real life is painful enough. I wish I had my reading hours back now. :(
