My Reviews
This insightful book about a daughter dealing with her mom's Alzheimers is about so much more than this disease. The author shares many wonderful lessons her mother taught her throughout her life. The vignettes she weaves into the story gives the reader a touching view of Joan's life. The reader is reminded often that the author's version of truth is a result of her life experiences, and may not be other people's version of truth about life. The relationship between the author and her husband is inspiring, as well as comical at times when their opposite personalities are revealed. Their relationship with each other shows us how the power of love can sustain us even in times of great difficulty.
This book shows what a tremendous impact one person can make in a seemingly hopeless situation. It also sheds light on what is really going on in the middle east with the Palestinian refugees. Great read for anyone looking for inspiration and information about this long-going situation!
