I felt that this book borrowed its plot heavily from other, much better books, and then didn't even do anything unique with the concepts. It was depressing, deliberately obtuse, and relied too heavily on one coincidence after another for my disbelief to remain suspended. It was also overly long and in desperate need of editing. The review title refers to what I felt the author was saying by about halfway through the book.
