My Reviews
"My Brilliant Friend" contains incredible articulation and depth of thought. Ferrante never simplifies her characters or their motivations. She very passionately describes the incredibly complicated nature of relationships. The political backdrop of Italy taking place during the time periods of these books was at times a little difficult to completely grasp without further references, but inspired me to learn more. I highly recommend reading all four of the Neopolitan novels.
Great writing, story, and characters!
This book is an excellent illustration of how and why our histories have been packaged, sold, and often are inaccurate.
Great story and good writing, although it could have used more editing.
