My Reviews
I am the only one in my club that had so much trouble with it, but I hated it. I thought about setting it on fire when we finished it. So many reviews that kept me waiting for something and it never came. Others in my group felt it left you with hope, so maybe I had a bad outlook. However, I would not recommend this book to my worst enemy!
I found this book to be the slowest of the trilogy. I would also have been pleased with more resolution to the entire series but overall a good read.
Enjoyed this book. Nice to be able to pick up and keep reading in the series. Great to find out some background on our main characters. Really liked it!
Kate Morton has become my favorite author! Her writing style is wonderful and I would highly recommend her books to anyone!
Really great. Has a few graphic parts that are not for the faint of heart, but an interesting story that I would recommend!
Really an amazing read. Not something I would have chosen on my own but I am glad I read it! Horrifying yet eye opening to what was reality. A good story overall.
A good book. He has a very limited style and it is getting predictable, yet the story still pulls you in and you just keep turning pages.
Historical fiction at it's finest! A what if that never did but it makes you wonder! A really good read! Thought provoking and really leaves room for discussion! Highly recommended!
Truly eye opening to a way of life and lots of room for discussion. Love the way it is two stories in one with the historical side and the present day story. An amazing book!
Very insightful into sex offenders and an incredible writer!
I have read this book twice and would not be surprised if I do again in my lifetime. Really thought provoking and a well written story. An excellent read.
My book group read this and it was almost painful. It is slow and full of pointless information. I was so grateful to have finished it and it was over. No one really enjoyed it.
Not a book I enjoyed at all. Just sort of wandered about and was never much of a story.
Really good. You know exactly what is going to happen and yet you absolutely have to keep reading to stay with the story. And you will cry! I needed tissues! It was a good book and really led to good discussion in our group!
Kate Morton has become my favorite author! This story may be my favorite of hers. I also loved House at Riverton and liked the forgotten garden. This book is simply addictive! I read it in a day and half because I could not leave it alone! I would put it down and then come right back! Truly a wonderful read!
Loved every second of it! A wonderful book that kept me reading every minute until it was over! And I was truly sad to not be able to continue to follow the characters and their continuing story! Better than a soap opera! I loved it!
I read this book in a weekend and enjoyed it! I never had a clue what the end would be until I got there! Really enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading other work by this author!
This book contains gobs of information. I really felt like there was too much. Reads like a college lecture without the slides. Not well organized in presentation. Overall I won't say I'm sorry I read it, but certainly not enjoyable.
This book was recommended to me by someone I greatly trust in her choices. It is not a bad book but not really exciting either. Basic Harlequin type story. Woman doesn't need man and is happy but miraculously finds man and is happier with great job and good family. Easy read but not memorable or life changing.
Very Dan Brown like writer. Great read all the way through but came to a screeching halt with no conclusion. i found that very disappointing and my entire book club agreed.
Was sad it was over! I really enjoyed how much her personality came through in her writing! Really great!
