My Reviews
I would describe this book as a love letter to Africa. It is so descriptive and written in a beautiful style - which led many to question the actual authorship. Our discussion shed new light on the amazing life of Beryl Markham and her time in Africa. Very interesting!!
Jodi Picoult does her research, so this book was an insightful look at Asperger's Syndrome and it's effects on the diagnosed person as well as their family. The story was well-told and the characters were believable. I would have preferred more closure with these characters at the end of the book, but overall I enjoyed it very much.
A very informative and improtant book. We need to understand the life and times of Henrietta Lacks, and also the major contribution that her cells have made to science.
The important ethical issues are still to be resolved.
