My Reviews
After the first 40 pages or so, I was so hooked that I stayed up most of the night. Despite the tough time that befall the heroine, our members found ourselves a little envious of her simple life.
Learning more about attitudes and prejudices during WW2 in the south was provoking, plus our all-women group finished the book so thankful for our ability to affect our own lives.
There was a lot of hope offered from from some lone,y, despairing characters. It could easily translate into a law & order episode because the suspect and the detective both have deep flaws. Glimmers of hope and from them, and anticipation of resolution keep you reading.
