My Reviews
I couldn't put this rich book down. Loved the detail. Captured the spirit of one tough character. I lOVE biographies, and this one was amazing in its scope of the war, Japan's brutality to our POW's and one man's ability to survive in spite of the odds against him. A must read for anyone who loves history.
A very interesting read that has so many characters you think there is no way you'll get to know all of them.....but you do! A very skilled writer to capture so much and keep us ripping along for the ride!
I enjoyed this book, with it's detail of a time gone by. Paris in the 20's, full of life, artistic people whose entire exhistance is to fill one's self to the fullest.
A worthy read. Slow and rich, just like a good book should be.
I enjoyed learning about the early science of cancer detection and treatment. Having many close family and friends fighting cancer, I find it amazing from where we were to where we are now for treatment. Getting to know Henrietta's family was very interesting.
