My Reviews
Classic predictable John Grisham
This book lead to great group discussions with all of the different characters. We all agreed that it was so entertaining it needed 5 stars.
The book was good for group discussion and we had mixed reviews. All agreed it was in the vein of Defending Jacob.
This book lead to some heated debate in our club as several members are devote Catholics. Not the most complexly written book but the concept or premise in that time was very interesting.
Jack Ford is very talented in many areas; however he is unconvincing in his female characters. Knowing this book was based on a person is what kept me reading until the end.
We actually gave this book a 3.5. It started great...kept you reading and not knowing for sure if Becky is troubled or a good mother. However, the last few chapters were anti-climatic after getting off to a great start. Easy summer read....unless you're an overprotective mother
Our club members rated this book anywhere from 1.5 up to a 4. We each remember different endings and parts so a little confusing. We all agreed it was too long
We gave this 3.5 stars. Most of the club enjoyed this quirky fun easy read during these troubling times. A couple of members thought it was dumb and too unrealistic.
We actually gave this a 4.5. It was like visiting old friends that you haven't heard from in awhile. Funny and light-hearted!
We actually gave this a 3.5...several members gave it a 2 and others a 4. Our group either didn't care for it (writing/story) or others really enjoyed it for the concept/possibilities.
We gave this a 4.5. Everyone loved the book in a book and how Alan Conway had characters from his life in his book. It was lost a little on theater plan written by the waiter but all the characters were developed and overall very enjoyable read.
Not everyone in our club finished it...I for one gave up but those that did finish it liked it. We actually rated it 3.75.
If you like AI then this would appeal to you, if you're a teenager this might appeal to you otherwise you would find as unbelievable as we did. Koontz is excellent at research and it shows in his writing but it wasn't applied to a believable character.
We had fun discussing this book. It's a perfect fun easy summer read. Lots of themes but a quick read.
Johanna Bonger's story was great. What she accomplished benefits all of us today but the fictional part of Emsley and Bram was straight from the authors romance writing style.
