My Reviews
It has inspired me to read more about Hemingway. He was such a complex fellow and obviously very attractive to women.
Very interesting about a modern day genius.
It was slow reading because of all the technical info.
A good book for anyone interested in the computer revolution.
My club rated this a 7 out of ten. I really liked it. It gives you a lot to think about in regard to the choices one makes in life and how those choices affects others.
This book brought to life the many struggles, heartache and difficulties experienced by our nation during the Civil War. Mary became real to me and I could feel her pain. I would have liked to know even more about Mary personally and a little less about the military battles. However, having recently seen the movie \\\"Lincoln\\\" this was a great personal perspective of the war.
Great story lines. Surprise ending. It was hard to put down.
Hoping there will be a sequel.
Great book about an important subject. Loved the story and the writing style.
Changed time frames with little transition. Difficult to follow. Spent too much time on describing surroundings. Did not develop some of the characters.
I did not like this book, but other members did like it. It was too dark for my taste. I also found it hard to follow. I did not like the writing style.
Most of the members in my club did not finish the book. I thought it was interesting and informative as it explored subjects (incest) and areas (island life) that many of us are unfamiliar with.
Really enjoyed the story and liked learning about Africa
