Angelina's Bachelors

This was a very engaging, quick read. I couldn't put it down. There are even recipes for the meals Angelina cooks. It will make you cry, laugh, and want to eat! This was one of my favorite books.

The Memory Keeper's Daughter

This was a good read, even if a bit frustrating at times. It is my hope that all children, regardless of "ablility to succeed", find someone in their life like Caroline, who is determined that every "I can't" is turned into an "I can, and I did".

Burnt Mountain

This was one of the strangest books I have ever read. The story starts out as an "all ends nicely" drama about the life of Thayer. It turns into a chaotic horror story of sorts, with a really horrible, confusing, and pointless ending. I would not recommend it.

The Devil in Pew Number Seven

This book is a truly inspiring read! The level of forgiveness that given to the criminal in this story is remarkable! It is made more incredible because it is a true story. A family of a preacher is harrassed, tormented, and even injured by a greedy, self-centered church member, and the preacher continues to forgive, pray for, and be kind to the perpetrator. It made even a true doubter like me believe. Wonderful!

Dear America:Letters Home From Vietnam

I have read close to 50 books about the Vietman conflict. This one is Hans down the best! The lettters are beautiful, sweet, scary, emotional, and honest. It is raw and moving. If you only read one Vietnam book, make it this one!

Offerings at the Wall

This is not a book you read, but rather one you stare at in awe. It is packed with photographs of the many different things that people have left for their loved ones. Items such as teddy bears, cigarettes, canteens, rations, photographs, and letters. It drew me in, and I could not put it down. Fair warning, have tissues handy. I loved it!

The Suitcases

This book, if you are lucky enough to find it, is a must read. It is the moving true story about three little girls, Betty, Anne and Carolyn, who are dealing with the sudden death of their mother when they are taken from their father. They move from foster home to foster home until finding the family that will love them forever. It is one of the best books I have ever read, and I have searched for years to find a replacement copy, which I am happy to report I have finally done. Read it!

This book is beautiful! It is a wonderful read full of magic. If I hadn't believed in the amazing aura that surrounds all persons with exceptional abilities, I would after reading this book. A true story that is proof beyond a doubt of human spirit.

Fifty Shades - the Trilogy

Guess what, everyone? Christian and Anastasia have sex! A lot of sex! Is it hot? Yes. Is it sexy? Yes. Is it erotic? Asboultely. Is it enough? Yes. I get it, it's erotica, but come on. How much sex can one couple possibly have? Christian is fit, I get it, but unless he eats the little blue pill like one would eat little mints, there is no physical way he's performing like that. The man is an animal. It has a good story line, there is romance, adventure, and lots of love, but does that counter act all the other stuff? I'd say it does. Good read.
