Under the Wide and Starry Sky

As a child, I always loved the poetry of Robert Louis Stevenson\\\'s \\\"A Child\\\'s Garden of Verses\\\". It was interesting to learn about the life of the man behind those beloved poems - and what a life it was! In spite of his health problems, he was able to travel the world and offer his insights on the areas he visited/lived in. Although I knew of the novels he has written, I have never read them. I will definitely put them on my list of \\\"must reads\\\". I thought the book was a little lengthy, but all in all, it was well worth the time to read it.

The Witness

This is an older book by bestselling author Sandra Brown, but it grabbed my interest from the beginning. Lots of twists & turns and a look at the power of the \\\"good old boy\\\" network in a small town.

Highly Overrated

I read this book because it was highly recommended by a friend. It was one of the most tedious books that I have ever read. I was very disappointed!

Glow: A Novel by Jessica Maria Tuccelli

Confusing, Beautiful, Pointless
Glow Didn\\\'t Flow

I don\\\'t know what I was expecting from this book, but I certainly didn\\\'t find it. Individual segments were interesting at times, but all in all, it was a very disjointed and confusing book. So glad I got it from the library and didn\\\'t waste my money on it for my Nook!

Don't Bother with this One

This was one of the most disjointed books that I have ever read. The author jumps from one time period to another within the same sentence. Very confusing! This coming from a supposedly award winning author? I don't think so! Not worth my time!

The Power of One

Not just another book about the Holocaust. Ranks right up there with Schindler's List in portraying the events of life in the Polish Ghetto. Although Irena Sendler didn't feel that she had done enough, this story shows just how much one person can do to make a difference in so many lives. Based on a true story, which not many people know about. Definitely worth reading!

This Census-Taker by China Miéville

Poorly Written, Gloomy, Dark
Don't Pick it Up!

I have no clue how this author has won awards for his writing. This book was very poorly written and had no point. At the end of the book, the only thing I could think to say about it was "Why?"

Brilliant, Confusing, Interesting
Don't Pick it Up!

This book came highly recommended by a friend, but we must have very different tastes in books. I knew it was different doing into it, and I thought it was a good concept, but I just couldn't get into it.
