My Reviews
Another great book by this author. Sandra Dallas is a favorite author of mine. You should try Alice's Tulips and also The Diary of Mattie Spenser.
I love this entire series. I enjoy the quiet reflection and the slow pace. The setting in Botswana and the fully developed characters make this a delightful destination for some armchair traveling.
The start of the book is slow and confusing but the more I read the more engrossed I became. Still can't decide if she did it or not?!
Our book club loved this book. Beautifully written, great pacing, memorable characters.
This was too long and predictable. I would expect it to be made into a Lifetime T.V. movie.
I loved this book. The letter format was a little offputting at first. But soon into the book I looked forward to the different characters letters. Each one had a distinctive voice. My book club all loved this book too! There was a lot to talk about!
There was a lot of discussion about this book. Some members really liked it and some really didn't. Many different aspects of the book to discuss.
Starts slowly but becomes addictive and has a twist at the end!
I felt so many emotions while reading this book. Frustration with society that would tolerate such inequities, admiration for people who persevere in the face of extreme obstacles and hope for mankind because of the grace of God extended when we don't deserve it.
This has been a terrific, and motivating book for me. Perhaps it hit a need in my own life for it to so resonate with me. I have since subscribed to her blog site and receive her facebook status updates.
I read this because of the idea of coping with chronic illness by focusing on others instead of self. There was just too much complaining and eventually strange spiritual stuff to really be relevant for me.
