My Reviews
most of the members of Books and Cooks felt they could have written the book, we are all around the same age, so we could relate to many of her topics. It nice read, it wasn"t a page turner but we throughly enjoyed it
The members of Books and Cooks enjoyed the book because we all have daughters and felt it was relatable, *some too close to home. It was interesting to share our own family dynamics dealing with a crisis and know that it effects everyone. We felt bad for Zoe that she did not have a strong support system with family or friends to help her better deal with her daughters and husband.
our book clubs members found the book very confusing. Each chapter was a different time in her life which is fine, except it was not in chronological order one minute she was 8 years old the next 32 the next 17 and so on. As you would start to get interested in a chapter it would suddenly change to another time and place.
This book was based on the real life of Mary Ingles, most of us found Mary quite brave in the beginning doing what she needed to do to survive. 5 out of 6 of us did not agree nor comprehend the choice she made concerning her children. It was very insightful about the lives of the Indians, how they lived so effiently
it was a good read and really makes you wonder what you would do in the same situation. Our book club was half and half on their choices
enjoyed the story line though the ending left me hanging. I wasn\\\'t aware this is part of a 5 book series on the adventures of Kash and Leslie and now can\\\'t wait to read them all when they come out.
Though the book can stand alone. I love the way the author changed font in the book when speaking of the past and present, it made it must easier to follow.
this book was so well written about a women who knew how to survive and help others along the way
Everyone in the bookclub enjoyed the story very much (our 84yr old member felt the sex was too detailed)the author wrote in such a way to help us understand a navy SEAL dealing with PTSD and how love brought him out of darkness. Very well written!
After two tough reads we were looking for a fun summer book and this book fit the bill perfectly. It was not all fluff there was some twists and adventure to keep you wanting more!
I enjoyed the learning about the bees, but it had too many bad things happening in one book and was very bias but I guess that is an authors choice.
