I LOVED this book. I have no idea why it is categorized as a "young adult fiction." It is an adult fiction book that is so wonderful it crosses the ages. It has been my favorite book read within our book club.
Most of our group agreed we probably would not have chosen this book on our own; but, that is the beauty and fun of being in a book club: reading different styles and opening your mind to new and different experiences.This book was fun to read from the perspective of a child with aspergers.
This book is a must read for not only book club members but for others as well. I actually wavered between 4 and 5 stars. The relationship between writer and his mother as they read and discuss books is beautiful.
I liked this story and how ones culture plays into many choices one makes in life.
