The Burgess Boys: A Novel by Elizabeth Strout
Book Club Recommended
Interesting, Slow, Insightful
Burgess BoysInteresting and well written take on family disfunction set in the context of a small town struggling with an influx of a culture that is very hard for the townspeople to understand.
The Corrections: A Novel by Jonathan Franzen
Book Club Recommended
Dark, Gloomy, Difficult
The CorrectionsAlthough the author is undisputedly brilliant, this is a hard book to get through and can be confusing in its complexity. It is worth the read, but don't expect it to be easy. It can be very funny in places and also disturbing. It may make almost anyone's dysfunctional family look good!
How the Light Gets In: A Chief Inspector Gamache Novel by Louise Penny
Interesting, Adventurous, Addictive
