My Reviews
The book was very dark from the beginning. It deals not only with being a child of a biracial marriage but also with addiction. The end of the book gave me hope that Rachel, the main character, would survive and find her place in society. However, not many people in our book group agreed.
IN OUTLIERS, Malcolm Gladwell focuses on factors that have been overlooked when examining the lives of Successful people. He states that birth dates, culture, community, parents, timing, luck and practice are some of the factors that contribute to the Success of people. Gladwell provides us with examples and facts to back up his theory.
The book debunks the myth of self-created Success story.
Although there are many critics of OUTLIERS, I found the book fascinating and eye opening.
