My Reviews
Personally, I found the "surprise" ending intriguing enough to go back and re-read parts of this book, finding the author's purpose and premise of the story very thought-provoking! It made for interesting discussion in our group.
When sixty people from a variety of social, economic and cultural backgrounds are entrapped within closed walls, without influence from the outside world, they communicate with each other and themselves with a renewed sense and appreciation of life. Though the ending was abrupt, I think it provides fuel for engaging discussion. And, it reminds us all to slow down a little and feel the grass. It also inspired me to listen to some opera!
