This book is a sequel to 'The Shanghai Girls' which I loved. Our Book Club has read most of Lisa See's books and has a SKYPE engagement with her coming up. You do not have to read the first book, although it would be helpful. The books tells the story of two Chinese sisters and focuses on "their" daughter. Although it is historical fiction, much about the time period is true with the author doing much research and having Chinese heritage. Lisa See tells her stories in a truly interesting and loving way. The book is awesome and our Book Club gave it a thumbs up for sure!
Loved, loved, loved this book by Ken Follett. I’ve read almost all of his books and loved them all. I never even knew that there was such a thing as “flying boats” by Pan Am. The characters were fully developed, it was easy to read and had a great story line.
