My Reviews
Fully engrossing and engaging. This novel really made me think about what it is to be a woman today, and how different life circumstances can truly be.
I really enjoyed this book.
This book was hauntingly accurate and representative of what life is and can be like as a young girl in the USA and in college. Drinking often begins in high school and continues in college. It is frightening and sad that girls are not equipped with the language and self-confidence needed to overcome alcohol abuse. Alcohol is seen as a "pass go" or release or self-medication, which it shouldn't be. This book was very well written and I could empathize with the author as my college years were similar, although not as intense.
My book club agreed that this is an epic novel. It was fascinating. Not something I would have otherwise read. It did take me a little bit of time to get into the book, but I'm glad I did. It was worth it!
I read this a few years ago, and it was very good.
This book is well written and details a life that I would otherwise not be privvy to. It rich prose encapsulates the spirit as well as the mind.
This book is surprising and dark, but engaging. Sad at times, humorous at others.
This book was an amazing journey of a young woman's life. It is incredible that she has turned into such an amazing person. It is a story of triumph and overcoming obstacles. Makes one appreciate their own life.
An epic novel of love, loss, survival and strength. I was blown away by this book. It was a peek into life in a country beleaguered by war. Truly amazing.
A turning, twisting, well written mystery that addresses, love, loss and life.
It was well written, engaging, engrossing, mysterious, lovely. I would highly recommend this book.
I can totally relate to the character and found myself laughing out loud. :D
