My Reviews

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

Insightful, Dramatic, Inspiring
It was good, but with it had some timing issues and an abrupt ending.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

Insightful, Dramatic, Brilliant
This was great book and good for discussion. The relationship of the son and father was quite intriguing

This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster. While I found much tradagdy, I found myself hoping for better days and for courage to prevail.

Adventurous, Interesting, Informative
This book was just OK. The last 1/3rd was really what made this book.

Slow to get into this book. I found the language and writing difficult to get me really involved with the characters. Felt the author step out of the time period by using some of the language of today. I really liked the concept of the book and enjoyed the last one third as it seem to then take on the action of the time.

The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory

Interesting, Dramatic, Informative
This book was stupendous. Absolute must read.

This novel takes you on a journey of a family driven to win the favor of the King and all the prizes that come with that.

It will take you on an jorney of emotions from enchanted, intrigue to suprise and thrilling. It brings to life the experiences of the court never captured by your school books. History becomes intersting and makes you want to know what happens next.

A young man accepts a job in an exclusive community while trying to deal with finding his own path in life.

Over all the book was good, however more background information would have been helpful. You feel like the author dropped you in the middle of this moment in time. Further development of key characters, I felt, would have brought this book more to life.

The Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler

Romantic, Beautiful, Dramatic
A love for Austen pulls together a book club of five women and one man. You will take a glimps at their past and their six months together as they tackel search for happiness.

I didn't feel a great connection to any of the charecters. I was expecting more Austen and felt a bit dissapointed. It was a good read not a great read. I found myself loosing track of who is who and who had a connection to the other in the group.
