My Reviews
Huge cast of characters with no depth of character except maybe a set of twins. Felt like every sentence could and should have been edited, My first and last Binchey book. I had to stop reading after 100 plus pages
A good read and good topics for discussion. One gets a strong feeling of what it would be like stuck in a life boat or other survivor situation. The time period is pre-WWI which makes the outcome a bit different today because we lack such high moral standard,
Landay draws you in with his tight and insightful writing. Lots of food for thought in this book, Are the characters judge and jury, realists or ostriches?
The Light Between Oceans sheds light on many human problems. One just in the news today was how adopting parents find their role so difficult that they are ready to give up their long sought after child after a few months of parenthood. There are many issues in this book that promote deep thought and great discussion.
