My Reviews

An Inconvenient Wife by Megan Chance

I loved this book. Maybe a little "cheesy" at times, but a good read anyway. I think it would be great for a book club discussion especially a women's group. Interesting facts about mental health i

I loved this book!

Young boy in Montana 1948, is witness to an event that changes his family's lives. Told from his point of view.

Excellent book to discuss. Brings up a lot of interesting conversations about race, small town life, and elitism.

Interesting view of post Katrina New Orleans

It would depend on what type of book club was looking into this book. It is a mystery type novel with the author's commentary on post Katrina New Orleans mixed in. A dark read.

Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya

Interesting, Brilliant, Inspiring
Coming of age story

My group loved this book. We live in a community with a heavy hispanic population and this book was chosen as our "all county read." A great mix of humor, sadness, and magic. Wish Anaya would write a sequel. Left us wanting to know more about what happened to Antonio.

Adventurous, Dramatic, Interesting
Two stories in one that will mesmorize readers.

My club loved this book. There wasn't one person who didn't like it. Gruen does an excellent job of blending two stories into one. Characters come to life on the page. This is an excellent and quick read.
