Informative and interesting but depressing and heavy too

I found it extremely difficult to get into this book but once I passed the beginning portion I was more into the book. It was challenging to read about what the main character endured and I felt it was a bit much but it was very informative and eye-opening for me.

Wasn't eager to read it but it was okay

I'm not really into this genre but it was okay. Light and fluffy. The ending was cute. For a book that I would not normally even look at.......it was okay.

Deep and very descriptive

I didn't read the entire book but from what I read I saw that all the writers are indeed talented and bring a real depth and complexity to their stories. Well written.

Okay

The story was interesting and had me wanting to find out how it ended but I could tell that it was a new and upcoming author as the book overall needs some improvement. Okay for a first book but look forward to seeing the author grow in her presentation, writing style and creative process.

Dark, Graphic, Dramatic
Interesting but too graphic in an unnecessary way

The story and the development of the characters were written well. The story was interesting and created an eagerness to continue reading but the graphic description of sexual violence was unnecessary and reflected the author's inability to create sympathy and revenge in a creative way that forced your imagination to figure things out. Abrasive, leaning towards a need for shock value rather than to develop a story and characters.

Great read and interesting

I enjoyed this book as it moved me to research more about leprosy and the island of Molokai. It was a great story with a foundation in truth. Well written.
