My Reviews
As a mother, I had a hard time reading this book because of how scary and real the situation could be. I struggled through it because I could not imagine what I would do, not because of how the book was written. I made me so grateful for my family and their love.
I was surprised to like this book so much! It took me a while to get all who all the characters were, but I liked the variety of their personalities. It was a light read, which also surprised me because of some of the heavier content.
I really wanted to love this book. There are so many things about a cubicle job that are humorous, that the author had endless options to write about - but didn't. I never got a plot out of the book. The characters were all fairly similar, so I often forgot who was who. Or maybe I just never connected with or liked any of the characters. The end of the book was downright annoying. The best way I can sum up the book was scattered. The only highlight is that the book was short.
I was not expecting to like this book so much, but I could not put it down! I am excited to read the rest of the series and dig deeper into the story.
The characters were so unlikeable that I could hardly tolerate reading this book.
The book is beautifully written. I love a book that makes you take stock of the relationships in your life and vow to make them better.
I didn't like the characters very much, but it was a good, quick read.
Not a typical read for me, but a light one for in between heavier books. Parts are slow but it was overall a good romantic book.
I am glad to have read this, but was a bit disappointed in the end. The book certainly opened my eyes to how recent these institutions existed. I had thought they were much more in the past.
It was okay. I was frustrated at the main character for the entire book. If you want change in your life, just start the process already. It was hard to feel sympathy.
I enjoyed this book, but not as much as the first of the series. I was glad to read it, but I didn't find myself coming up with much of anything for a book club discussion.
The book was a slow start and a long book for anyone that doesn\\\'t have much time on their hands between book club meetings. Once I was into the book I enjoyed it though. I love English history, especially during the Tudor period, so I was able to easily understand the background of the main story and how politics were influencing the story line.
I found this book hauntingly beautiful. Many parts were hard to read because how the characters treated each other, but I could not put this book down. You will need tissues.
