My Reviews
Friendship saga of growing up and facing loss, guilt, loyalty, family, career, and personal issues. There were some very powerful themes developed in insightful ways. The characters grew and developed during the story, and I could relate to a lot of their struggles. This was the second book that Sandra Kring wrote featuring these 2 female friends.
Should be required reading for all Jr. High/High School students. Also reminds everyone that kindness is always appropriate.
Emotional, can really get into the characters moral choices and get really involved in the story. The reader keeps asking herself, \\\"What would I do?\\\"
The book is very well written.
Well written first novel which provides for lively and informative discussion.
Delightful, insightful, humorous, poignant, human story of neighbors reaching out to a grumpy down-hearted man. This book was hard to put down as you feel that you have entered this neighborhood and community and want to enjoy it forever.
historical fiction with an interesting story. It showed how war affects everyone, even those not in the war zone. I had never heard that the USA kept German prisoners of war in barracks in many cities and they worked in factories, orchards, cannaries, etc. during the war.
Interesting, fast moving story, easy to read. Nice to see growth in the characters.
