The story is told from the perspective of 6 characters. I generally don't find this the most intriguing way to tell a story. However, in this case it's the perfect way for us to hear their voices. The book sparked quite a lively discussion for our group about equality, womens' rights, mother-child relationships and more. We highly recommend it!
